IP Nurse Call for Hospitals, Care Homes and Clinics
12,000 Installations So Far & Still Growing..
The Nurse Call Systems we use are installed in over 12000 premises throughout the world. These range from hospitals, care homes and systems for care homes. For new builds and refurbishments in the care environment where wiring is not an issue or where wireless nurse call technology was a consideration, it always pays to choose a wired system. Typically it will deliver 30% more features and will save you a similar amount going forward in lower costs of ownership.
What’s Driving Current High Demand?
Consultants everywhere are waking up to the fact that a nurse call system is really only as reliable as the integrity of it’s network. When we explain these various failsafe elements, our nurse call system is clearly distanced from most UK alternatives. This is because Zettler nurse call systems comply with a European Security Standard (which is insurance led) – It therefore exceeds that of the UK Nurse Call Systems whilst also satisfying UK standards and offering substantially more features and flexibility than say a wireless nurse call solutions system.
ZETTLER CT Touch Nurse Call Displays – For Intelligent Infection Control Friendly Speech
In healthcare environments, the need to achieve more with less resources is the common theme – especially now with Covid-19. At the same time, the focus on driving patients and staff safety and enhancing the patient’s experience is also key in a carehome or hospital.
Active calls and the presences of other care staff are displayed on a large, easy to understand colour touch screen.
These new units are designed to be slim and low profile with an attractive clinical white finish. They are robust, ultra reliable and easy to use.
These call point units are typically employed in patient‘s rooms or corridors in a hospital enviroment and primarily used for staff to patient communication. They are however also used to further facilitate daily communication between staff. By selecting a specific room number or a group of rooms, staff can speak directly to either one person or make an announcement to number of rooms simultaneously.
Our CT Touch is used in conjunction with our base console. Our IP in-room touch screen display is used for speech based systems and boasts a large colour touch screen display for ease of use. When a patient call is made, an audible tone can be forwarded to any rooms where staff have registered presence. It is also possible to configure the system to only alert, for example, general care staff to incoming non-emergency calls.
Safety & Efficiency Apps under development include pain assessment, wound care & bed management.
One of the many safety features of our Zetsafe network is that multiple speech paths can be simultaneously open thus reducing the risk of calls not being received in good time. Calling Individual Rooms or Making Announcements Calls can also easily be made to individual rooms or groups of rooms or stations.
Within the room, our CT Touch workstation allows that conversations be made discreetly with a handset or in ‘hands-free’ mode when the handset is in it‘s bracket.
Many elements of the system can be managed with this base console – for example assigning pagers and creating care groups. This base console can be employed as a central point for all rooms or just to manage a smaller group of rooms.
Incoming calls are received by simply picking up the handset. It boasts a large colour touch screen display for ease of use. Calls are generally displayed in a prioritised order, with the most urgent and oldest call at the top of a scrollable list.
Additionally, two standard levels of presence (i.e one for nurses and another for other clinical grades – ie consultants) can be viewed at a glance and messages can easily be retrieved.
By interfacing to an existing PABX system, residents and staff alike can receive and make external calls without necessitating a telephone per bedroom. Additionally, calls from the door entry system can be routed either to bedrooms or when there is no reply from a room, it can be diverted to the nearest DECT handset.
Staff Friendly Time Saving Apps for Stressful Working Environments
One of much loved features is our range of app buttons on our CT Touch Workstation. The display buttons make it so much easier for staff to operate the unit. Let’s face it, hard pressed staff can be faced with real time pressures when dealing with patients and residents from time to time. These buttons are easily and quickly located when needed in a hurry.
One of great aspects of our solution is these buttons can be entirely configured to suit your needs. At ZETTLER, we know very well that you may have multiple needs for various functions by the bedside. For this reason we have allowed for a large capacity of touch screen buttons – up to six buttons can be created.
Staff can use the display buttons of the communication terminal to execute functions quickly and easily – for an example an announcement to their own group, calling a stored telephone number or direct access to the bed timer.
The integral timer is always appreciated since with a few quick steps, staff will receive a reminder about whatever repetitive task they need to perform in these stressful times. It saves them from forgetting to do things in essence. A reminder can be sent to wherever it suits – i.e to a pager, an overdoor light or the display – It’s all captured too..
These options can be accessed directly from the CT Touch Workstation’s colour touch screen. The colour, the text and the function of the display buttons can be freely configured to suit your needs.
Intelligent Overdoor Lights – To Help Staff in So Many Ways
In these times – it makes perfect sense to choose high integrity overdoor lights that you can both trust from an integrity perspective but also help your operation run efficiently. For example, a bespoke colour to show that a room is in quarantine.
For extra peace of mind and to satisfy a standard that exceeds most codes of practice, each of our lamp segments are fully and individually monitored for peace of mind. We can even show that a room is in isolation – by showing a bespoke colour combination.
One of our most appreciated features is that our led lamp segments are fully customisable. This means that establishments can customise the combination of colours to suit their needs. For example, the overdoor light could consist of four different coloured segments or any combination thereafter. Room status’s include Normal Calls – Assistance Calls – Emergency Calls – Manual Reset & Presences.
We can now offer a much wider range of colours and combinations to deliver many other advantages. The multi-colour LED light with electronics is an addressable LON node which monitors the connected room devices and reports their status to the main control unit of the station (TCP/IP gateway, station display). Calls and presences are indicated optically and audibly, depending on the configuration. The unit has 4 luminous segments with monitored LEDs.
In the standard configuration the selected colours are white, red, green and yellow/blue. Additional magenta, cyan and violet can also be predefined and selected according to requirements. The 8 monitored inputs with the associated outputs can be freely configured.
Anti-Microbial Protection – For Peace of Mind
To assist with infection control, our nurse call plastics are anti-microbially treated – a critical feature nowadays where rates of infection are monitored closely. It’s embedded into the plastics so until metal coated versions – it cannot be scratched off.
Perfect Solution for Healthcare Environments
Our multi-functional hard wired call systems are perfect for these environments. Our focus is to deliver what we believe the be safest integrity 1st platform in the UK today combined with numerous advantages over wireless systems such as enabling multiple upgrade paths that drive operational efficiencies within the care workplace. Our solution is often chosen as superior replacement for Aid Call, Courtney Thorne, Medicare and Intercall. Perhaps read our guide to making your selection here..
Choice of Platforms Including IP Nurse Call
You’ll find everything you need in our range. From flexible topologies that includes an IP platform to real time location module add-ons such as asset tracking to drive workflow excellence, we’ve got you covered. Hospital design specifications can be understandably very demanding. There’s a good reason for this. Literally, every second matters in a hospital and can make a vital difference to patient outcomes. These care call systems not only need to be fast and accurate, but they must be super reliable as well. You’ll find that this is just one of the areas that makes us different from our peers. Our system has a reputation for true engineering integrity.
The whole system will be underpinned by a technologically superior and reliable 24v PSU – invariably with battery back-up. Commonly requested features include corridor displays, call activity logging software, emergency and cardiac buttons, helpful apps for nurses, overdoor lights, speech functionality, pagers, panic alarm integrations and real time location module add-on capabilities – such as asset tracking and bed management. Ultimately, you can simply pick and choose the elements you’d like to create your tailored system.
Many Extra System Safety Features
One such example is our ECS concept – Emergency Call System. It’s integrated in our IP nodes such as our ZETTLER Switch or CT Touch IP Room Terminal. In the event of a network switch failure, our emergency displays will still receive critical event notifications. Our Zetsafe system also guarantees that we lose zero calls for peace of mind. The Zetsafe system is based on circuits that are divided into independent Segments. Any rule exceptions to normal operation will be immediately detected and will only affect the system locally. It will never disable the entire system.
Good Old Fashioned & Honest Engineering – The Importance of Quality Maintenance
If you are concerned with the maintenance of the system, you can also rest assured that we take this very seriously too. Many of our clients are taking the option of remote site diagnostic monitoring. We’ll install some hardware in your premises that will connect our service desk to your system. When assistance is needed we remotely access the system and take action. Our trained engineers, with your permission, will have access to a system fault logger and from this they can quickly and easily determine where the problem is so that repairs can be carried out. Designated onsite staff can also receive notification texts or emails and renaming requests can be carried out remotely. Furthermore, engineers will only visit site with correct parts. Faults can often be resolved and rectified before becoming disruptive. As a leading designer of these solutions, we take after sales care very seriously.
