Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems (PIDS)

Initially this technology was designed around securing the site perimeter; at RTLS we have taken this a step further by creating “ enhanced secure areas” where detection systems are integrated systems designed to raise an alarm or initiate CCTV recording, a baby tagging system be triggered or a fire door be activated, an intruder entering a restricted area. Once a sensor raises an alarm the cameras will automatically record activity in the appropriate area.

PIDS are popular set-ups in areas of enhanced security, neonatal/paediatrics and mental health facilities or secure building sites such as medical gas stores and electricity substations. In these instances, the system can raise an alarm, alert control room staff or even directly contact police or security company.
